Hi all, Im working on a buddy of mines 95 3500 hd 6.5 turbo vin code F. It had leaking in take man gaskets and a leaking valve cover which had just been siliconed back. Was wondering what the intake torque was. The chevrolet dealer told me that GM does not produce a valve cover gasket any more The service tech told me to just use silicone Is this true? Thanks.

Intake manifold bolt torque: 25-37 ft-lbs

Be careful, the manifold is aluminum and many people have cracked them by over-torquing the bolts.

Valve cover bolts: 13-25 ft-lbs

A bead of silicone is the preferred method to sealing the valve covers. You can get cork gaskets from Fel-Pro, but stick with the silicone only to reduce the chance of a leak.

Fel-Pro offers an upper engine gasket kit for the 6.5L, which includes the manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets, injector pump to timing cover gasket... the kit can be ordered through most auto parts chains.
