Just checking here before I search and overpay for a new one.
There are two long bolts and one short bolt. I have stripped the head off one of the long ones. Anyone have it laying around or an old junk engine in the barn?
It’s a 2nd Gen 12-valve, right? I don’t have a ‘94 ESN, but ‘95 to ‘98 are the same. Housing is part number 3925474, long bolts are 3926972 (M8-1.25 X 80mm), short one is a 3900632 (M8-1.25 X 35mm).
Yes, the long bolts are on top. The line for the short one just looks like it goes to the top, but it’s definitely on the bottom. Believe me, I had mine off twice, once on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day. Put a thermostat in and then found it leaking from a cut seal. I did figure out I could pull it off without removing the alternator and belt.
Just buy some hex head bolts from McMaster and add a washer. Or buy some M8 x 1.25 all thread, flat washers, nuts, and make studs.
I did not see where McMaster offered flange head bolt in that size, 80mm in length.
