  • I have converted many trucks over the past 10 years or so from 2pc to a 1pc shaft, from the 80's trucks to the newer 08's,
I know there are 2 part#'s, im not exactly sure which is the right # as per length, but yes if you only have 1.5" of slip in the transfer case that is kinda pushing it, and you could have a problem.

Make a mark on the slip and then drop the shaft and measure exactly how far it is in the case.

Also make sure it's in the case, not just the extra length dust boot.
Hello Sir - I was told to contact you from another user that thought you could help me understand a problem. I hope you can and thanks for even looking at this!

I have a 2006 Mega Cab 1500 4x4 auto transmission. I have been doing a lot of research on replacing the 2 piece drive shaft with the one piece aluminium and went ahead and ordered part #52123161AB.

I had my local mechanic install the shaft today and he is telling me that only 1.5 inches is going on the output shaft in the transfer case.

Have any of you done the 2 piece to 1 piece conversion? Is the 1.5 inches on the output shaft okay? My local guy does not think so, but I researched and researched this and thought I had the correct part number! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
