Legit. 9 second (or better) 12v racers grab your slips, and step inside.

Yes Sir, I raced 6.70 last season with Fiberglass bedsides only, the truck weighed 5600 and would run consistant 6.40s. Prior to that, we were going right around 6.70s. This year we went all lexan, fiberglass front clip, doors and swapped to the bogarts with about 10lbs a corner of savings over my old racelines.

I have no idea where I shift, probably somewhere around 4000 or so. That will go up as our goal is consistant 5.90's, which I believe will be obtained with about 10-12* of timing.... give or take.

Thanks for the reply, Do you know how much weight you saved with all the fiberglass and removing the glass? also was you bed always gutted? Do you have a link for all the second gen fiberglass parts? Thanks in advance...

I know with the Bed, we Lost over 350lbs..... I havent weighed with the fiberglass and lexan. But I know the Whole Front Clip including grill is around 46lbs, front doors are 10-12 lbs, Rear Inserts are 8 lbs or so and bedsides weigh 12 lbs.... I am hoping to be under 5000. Or if you arent on fbook, I can shoot you his info

Great info thank you, so the 2 best answers were.. weight reduction and a 7.1 liter.. I have a lightweight brake kit I was saving for the 9" project but after reading your post im going to run them on my dana 80 and see what it gets me. Here are the actual weights new vs old.

dana 80 drum 52.4 lbs
dana 80 hub and bearings 21 lbs
dana 80 backing plate with shoes and wardware 19.2 lbs

total weight 92.6 lbs
rotating weight 73.4 lbs

lightweight brakes
hubs with bearings and rotor 16 lbs
caliper brackets, calipers and pads 10 lbs

total weight 26 lbs
rotating weight 16 lbs

I saved 66.6 lbs total and 57.4 lbs of rotating weight per side. I hope this gets me some decent gains. I went with twin calipers per side, I still want to be able to stop this thing lol, definitely gave up some surface area going to disk vs drum... pic of what I have going on...

innovative machining solutions. The work is awesome. When I ordered them it took quite awhile to get them... I think he was having growing pains with his business. Im guessing he's probably straightened out by now.

Growing pains, phone answering problems, avoidance.

You're being too kind.

I really expected more slips in here!

I have gone 10.5 on stock motor, cracked intercooler, hurt fuel pump...

All of that is fixed now, and just got truck started a few days ago... so hopefully I'll be good to go on making some 9sec passes here soon.....

You would have seen plenty years ago
