Wtf. HPS makes good stuff but I don’t know what you got goin on there.

As for v bands, isn’t that a bad idea with stock motor mounts?

Oh... by the way... this came in! I can’t wait to give it a shot. They are supposed to be super accurate. Gonna replace the intake gaskets next week then go give it a shot. “If you can’t take the truck to the track, bring the track to the truck” lol

What exactly is "this"? Saw it on kingspeeds feed the other night.

As for hps, looks like the floro-coating didn't adhere to the substrate and is allowing charge air to pass. I have one off my truck that was unused I can snap a Pic of.

I’m thinking about doing the vibrant vanjen clamps. I believe they will allow for enough deflection with factory motor mounts

Yea as they said, it’s a dragy. Gps based performance system. Everyone I talked to said they are extremely accurate... as in within .01 of actual track times.

Just go with solid engine mounts, your intercooler will thank you by not getting pulled and twisted on.

I couldn't tell hardly any difference in vibration after I switched to solids, truck picked up 2 to 3 hundredths in the 60ft after the change also.

Yo get a chance to test the Draggy out yet?

Kinda. Lol. I messed with it in my beater (03 civic sedan) just to see how it works. Haven’t tested it in the truck yet. Kinda neat. Hope to test it in the truck either this afternoon or tomorrow.

That may happen eventually. I’m just trying to get it down the track right now while I’m about to divert all focus to the reg cab build.

So... I got time to take the truck out with the dragy, and this is what I came up with. For the first hit ever, and on tune 1, I’m more than satisfied lol. Can’t wait to get some time to play with it again.

So I haven’t really had much going on with the truck recently, but I have messed with some tuning adjustments. I’m pretty dead set that after Diesel Truck Wars this weekend I’ll be sending the converter out for a restall. It’s just right on the hairy edge and is super temperamental. I feel like a couple hundred rpm will make everything so much simpler.

As things sit, if I start with a cool trans (120*ish), I can spool to 10lbs slow (about 10 seconds), then when I ease off of the brake it loosens the stall just enough to get over the charger. Kinda aggravating, because if I have to let off for some reason it’s done. Also, if it’s over 150*, I really have to fight it. But, it’s only one event. After that I’ll be making some changes.

Also, for anyone who may be interested, I’ve been asked by a ton of people to start a YouTube channel. So I finally did. Idk what route I’m going to go with it, if it’s going to be me working on stuff, or vehicle feature based. We will see. But here is my first video.. don’t judge me too bad. Using an old GoPro and iPhone editing at the moment lol

Well I’ve posted a couple of YouTube videos with updates, but I’m going to share here as well.

Nothing major going on. Just a couple small things getting ready for truck wars. I had a small coolant leak from a fitting on the heater hose, trans pan gasket was seeping just a little, leaking intake gaskets, etc. also, I cut down the factory exhaust a tad so that the turn up tip is brought in closer to the truck and doesn’t stick out is far.

Then I threw on my bed cover just to cover up the ugly spray in liner someone put in it.

Well here goes a little race day recap...

I had a leaking intake gasket and trans pan was seeping some fluid, so I took care of those. I also cut back the exhaust to get the 45* turn up tucked in closer to the bed, and threw on the bed cover.

Saturday we went out to Diesel Truck Wars here in eastern nc to try to make some runs in 6.70. The only pass I had on the truck was the one with the dragy a couple of weeks ago (7.1 @ 99 on the street), and I have been fighting spool up. With it being 80-85* outside I figured it would suck spooling, so if I felt like I was going to burn someone down I would just bow out and run TNT later.

Well Q1 I ran on tune 2. Spool up was way better than expected. I sat back about 5ft from the line and brought up the heat at around 1/2-3/4 throttle. Once it started getting over 6-8lbs I just eased forward and it came on up. I pushed through the brakes a tad and accidentally double bulbed the other guy (my bad). Ended up running a 6.94 at 103, 1.73 60ft. +.006 RT. I was stoked.

Q2 I decided to run on tune 2 again and try to get the 60 down. Spool up went very similar, launched a tad harder, and ended up with the following: 6.83 @ 103, 1.63 60ft, -.007 RT. All over the light, but a tad early.

E1 was getting cooler outside, so I knew the times would pick up. I left everything the same. I treed the other guys with a .03 to his .22, so when I got to the top end I never made the 3-4 shift. I just let out and coasted to a 7.2 at like 90mph. 60ft dropped to a 1.59.

E2 I had Susan in the diesel life rat rod. Her staging routine threw me off a little. I was still able to tree her, with a .03 to her .12, but I made a rookie mistake. When I went to do the 2-3 shift, I accidentally grabbed the 4th switch. Of course nothing happened. When I realized what I did I bumped to 3rd, but it went straight to 4th because I had it engaged still. Long story short, I went 1-2-4. Which caused it to bog down and run a 7.0 at 99. Knocking myself out.

In the end I was extremely happy with how the day went tho, other than kicking myself for hitting the wrong gear. I can’t complain tho, the truck went 6s it’s first time out, and was actually competitive if the owner had a little driver mod.
