2.6 Turbo rule for 2010

Leave it like it is, I know many top trucks that do not have a fortuned tied up in thier trucks, and then i know some that have way to much tied up into them and are mid pack. Throwing money at an engine doesnt always garentee your going to win. Setup and driving is the other half. First year i ran my truck, me and Dale ran neck to neck and the head had never been off mine. A turbo and injectors with some good tuning made it happen.

I don't see the escalation of the 2.6 class as the end of work stock. I see the opposite. The owners that don't want to make the bigger investment can compete in work stock. The turbo alone separates them.

no matter what you make the rules, or how you present them, some will always find a way around them, or a loophole. Regardless of what you make the rules, some trucks may run better then others. Everyone has to realize that as stated before one part, in this case Turbo, does not make the entire truck. Set up is killer. Hitch, suspension, tires, stance, everything is incoorporated into the sport. Let the turbo rule fly for a couple years so it gives people time to build, test and tune their setups. le

Built trucks are in every class now, instead of worrying about everyones elses truck worry about your own and modifying it to be as competitive as possible. More moeny doesn't always mean a Win...$.02

Have a spec charger, and lead seal it! Its what they do in the super farm class, and dont seem to have a problem with it. Its easy to tech, all you have to do is look and make sure the lead seal isnt broken.

The organization that inserts a "spec charger" into their rules will be signing their own death certificate. We pull 40 to 50 times a year. To buy a spec charger to make 3 to 6 hooks a year is insanity. Much easier to skip the 3 to 6 hooks. Most of the other competitors will do the same.

Well, if the rules in trucks were as unified as the superfarms, that might work.

But like Pops says, there are so many rules packages out there with the trucks that a spec charger will never work. It's total chaos with the local rules.

Do you guys allow people to call other people out on getting teched.... this happend last year at urbana? I think the classes have got pretty bad about cheating... Im sorry but look at our cotpc.... those trucks are the farthest thing from street? lets start calling it pro 2.6? i know i can take my truck to florida and back making 700hp and getting 22mpg... how many in the top 5 in that series cotpc can actually even leave town.... 4.13 or 4.88 or 5.13 gears... I would laugh seing a badass truck going down the freeway at 30mph.... I will say the gears in the rearend is the least of my theory's about cheating I understand a manual truck is limited to one gear when pulling, where as my automatic I can kinda choose although a tight track and loose track will tell the tale even then i might be able to hit 3rd or 4th but the truck will have no rpm. Im just ranting, as far as 2.6 you wont find a better competitive class.... its always the same 5-6 trucks trading places except for the cotpc where evan whoops on everyone...*nx* jk... his truck is a bad running sob

Do you guys allow people to call other people out on getting teched....

It doesn't need to be allowed... most people demand that anyone who beat them be teched... IN our area, anyone who beats anyone else is cheating because those who lost have the best built truck (in their mind) and the perfect setup, and is the best drive to hit the sled pulling track... just what I have observed and been accused of... even when my truck was stock...

IDK, i think it should be allowed 100 bucks? if your not cheating you have nothing to hide? I just wonder how a truck can put 40ft on the pack then come back and get 3rd and then come back and put 30 ft on the pack again? or better yet run a 3.0 charger with a custom housing to run 2.6 and stay on top of the charger when the sled slams on you? seems to me there is something there keeping that charger lit.... whether it be so much wheel speed it wont bring it down Idk...

2.6 seems to be the new entry level class so we should run entry level turbos.
id say 2.6 inducer ,and the option to any bodys turbo for xxxx amount of $$$$ 1500-1800??

but then what do you do when someone buys a used turbo to use it? There are always going to be ways to get around it. Let us build thr trucks for a set of rules that are going to be around for a couple years, giving us something to base off of, and i bet you will find next year and the following will impress you; not only with the numbers of the sport, but with how well some can build and tune their trucks
