3rd Annual Texas Diesel Nationals

After reading all of this, seeing the great pictures/videos...and was really wishing I could have made it to Ennis this year...will NHRDA come down or consider coming down to Houston next year...there are a lot of us here who would really like to see a National Event locally...!!! Last National Event I saw was DHRA to give you an idea of long its been... I have been to the Texas Diesel Shootout deals, maybe Diesel Innovations would be interested in helping to sponsor something here....!!

Guys i have a question, How much does Nhrda pay out to winners of each classes? I know it many vary from events but what the average?

Thats a really tough question to answer specifically. It varies from race to race and also can depend on truck count. What class are you looking at and i can give you a ballpark average payout for a pretty normal event (not one like Indy, World Finals, etc) but its not possible to give an exact figure to cover all events.

Then you have to factor contingency money in. While i know nobody is running EVERY product we have contingency for, there is a total of $1200 available to win in all classes (600 for second, 300 for third) from the manufacturers. We also have four manufacturers that pay 50% of the contingency amount to just run thier sticker, even if you dont have product on your truck. So if you have six or seven of the manufacturers products on your truck and you runs stickers and win, you could get an additional $6-700 on top of our payouts.

I would not want to promise you anything or get your hopes up, but nothing is impossible either!!! Honestly at this point in the year its tough to speculate what next years schedule will look like as far as adding races.

hey drillpipe thanks for the video man, im glad i met you, thanks for all the help, i hope to see you at the track again

Marc don't tease us like that! I know a lot of people who would be very happy to see an event back in Houston! Heck 60% of the PS trucks at Ennis were from Houston area and 2 others did not make it.

How many were in Pro Street? 60%?

All i can say is you never know. I would say its unlikely just based on its proximity to ennis compared to how big the the rest of the region is and how far apart the races are, but again nothing is impossible and that definitely doesn't make it a "no". And all of that is out of my hands other than suggestions!

If we had the Racers, Spectators, Staff, And Sponsorship to do it, im sure we would race at dang near every track we could, but the reality is that just isnt the case. Untill we get racers traveling further and getting to all of thier regions events at least, we have to be carefull about trying to get too big too fast and end up with events that have turnouts that dont justify having the event in the first place. Thats not to say we dont have a ton of members that travel a long ways.....But a lot of guys also just do thier local track and thats it. To grow the sport we need more guys willing to travel, and overall more guys just racing!! Not everyone can travel, but some that don't could and just don't want to..

How many trucks were in the parking lot at Ennis??? These are the same guys sitting in the stands saying "my truck will go faster than that"......Yet they wont race it. But they beat the ever living daylights out of the truck getting on the freeway or between the stoplights!!! Way harder than you can on a dragstrip. It isnt uncommon at all to see a 15 plus second truck win the ET's.....So these are the guys we need to get excited about racing and trying it out.

We do what we can, but the bottom line is the future of the sport is really up to the Racers and Spectators!!!

Marc don't get me wrong I do appreciate the event and all you guys are doing for the sport. That being said though it seemed the majority of racers were from either south or south east. I know a few guy were from the west and north just like Daryl from OK. But you can't help to notice that 3 PS trucks were from the Houston area (and 2 others that didn't show) 1 from the Dallas area and I believe the other was from south of Houston. The only PSK truck was from Florida and at least 3 of the SS were from areas around Houston or further East like LA. There were a lot of people in the brackets from the south east also. Ennis, Houston or San Antonio I will support the event. :Cheer:

Ok here I will do the math for you.. 5 PS entry's 3 of them from the Houston area. Last time I checked 3 of 5 was 60%......

Im not sure who you are with your whopping 13 posts but after a little researching you have not posted in over a year on here. The last time you did and the majority of your posts on here are defending Josh and swinging on his nut's. This makes sense to me now why you would come asking a silly ass question like that after no posts in over 12 months. I get it Josh is butt hurt because my wife beat him in the gambler race and he wants to claim she burned him down on the converter at the light. GTFOI! First of all it was her first time ever running any event she does not even have a clue about burning some one down. Secondly even if she had done it. He red lighted... She was on a 12.21 dial in and was running people all day chasing down 1 to 4 second starts. You don't see me F^%*!^( crying about being on the converter.

Main reason you should move on with your life is Auto Start! She made the beams with out timing out so cry to some one else. I wasn't going to bring it out about him sending me the PM complaining but your silly dig has changed my mind. :Cheer:

What all do you have done to the white first Gen?

powerstroke intercooler, 5x18's, my brother built the pump with a 14mm head, water meth, stock trans, 66/74/14 tubo. and it builds 70psi. it blowing right though the auto

No problem. Glad I could help. Was nice meeting you and your brother and it's competitors like y'all that will help this sport more than anything else. Keep a bind on it.

Here is what happened the year that DHRA was dissolved we approached Houston at PRI and wanted to continue the tradition such as we did in Indianapolis. They gave us a qoute of $20,000 for track rental and really didnt seem interested.

The Motorplex has been more than helpful to promote the NHRDA and The Texas Diesel Nationals and the rental fee is not even half of what Houston wants so it was an easy decision for us to make.

LOL well can't argue with the bottom line on that one. I guess I need to go give them a hard time about that. Who knows maybe in the future we can get something back this way. Thanks again guys!
