You are mistaking me for someone with ambition.
I only did this because the oil leak was so bad I didn't even bother trying to pass tech. He would have laughed me out, and then made me clean up the tech lane. I was losing 2 qts a week down the side of the block.

Purple would be badass ! :rockwoot:

I was considering polishing it all, but but that is a lot of work, and I need to learn how, and I really don't want this to be my guinea pig. So I'm going to start powdering it piece by piece, including valve covers again. I also didn't powder right away because the system comes off almost twice a week right now as I fix/add other stuff. I want to get everything dead set and consistent before I make it pretty.

Plus, polished requires almost weekly touchups with me, scratching it, greasing it, etc.... With powder I can wipe clean whenever it's needed and not worry about it.

Those are awesome egt numbers, I am freaking jealous!

At first I thought it was because it was night time, but I drove it during the afternoon today and same results.

Looks good man.

It would be neat to have a few water temp gauges to monitor the a/w coolant temp pre and post.

Time for some aluminum polish.

Temp gauges will come eventually. I know post cooler gets very hot though. Very very hot. I need to get some header wrap or something over the hot pipe, and some blankets on the turbine housings asap.

Purple would be badass ! :rockwoot:

It will be same color as the truck, with a little more metal in it.

Any WOT egt numbers? Lol it seems your truck has never run hot with any setup you've had.

1300 on a 10 second pull before the headgasket was replaced. I'm going to wait for one more retorque and valve lash adjustment before I really beat on it again, hopefully friday at test'n'tune. And it used to get hot with the hx and marine 5x.014s LOL

Also, anyone know what temperature water has to get to to build 13psi in a closed system? It opens my 13psi cap, but didn't open my 18psi cap. It's post cooler by the way, so don't panic.

Made 3 passes tonight, 1st two were trial passes for the most part, no boosted launch, eased into it and shifted casually, ran two 13'1's at 109. 3rd run I launched at 10psi, shifted normal but ran about 3/4 throttle till 1/8th and then full throttle. Ran 12.7@110. Thats also when the water pump burned up and egt's went way over 2000*. All runs were also drawing fuel down to 5psi, but I have a new regulator waiting to go on to solve that. And weight was 7600lbs.

Hopefully I'll get the pump fixed, regulator in and run 11's with an all out pass.

A spectator grabbed this video of my last run, and met me in the pits.

Head gasket fixed, no more oil leaks. Truck is now actually 100% leak free lol.

Cruising @ 75 @ 2300rpm: egt 600 10psi, uphill egt 700 20 psi

What are your spool numbers? And I'm sure yours is faster still LOL You have that fancy ball bearing stuff don't you? And with that 13mm, I'm sure you spool faster.

No ball bearing here, I have 20psi at 2100 rpm crusing but I'm at 800-900 degrees egt. If locked up I can get 20 psi at 1900 an it takes off from there. Sounds like you are liking your new twins though!

Mike will chime in, but I'm afraid his 351 has you beat on spool...

I posted in one of these threads. But yes, Cliff knows, if I roll into it locked from 1200rpm (which I can cruise around town doing now lol), I can have 20psi by 1500ish, I've found that really depends on weather, but it's usually right around 1500, and thats where it skyrockets.

That's exactly were my 351 lit at. It was a lot of fun but the top end it felt choked out.

Same here, man I miss that 351 spoolup lol. With the 63/68 it likes to be over 2000 rpm, also I cruise at 1000*+ LOL

This one pulls strong, but I've never been in another twins truck over 100mph before, so I might have no idea what pulls hard really means.

giggity.

Your truck just hates you.
