installed cds 5 gsks can't get to idle right NEED HELP!!!

i have yet to figure it out been at work wont be off till later this evening, but will keep update on what i've done and if i solve the problem or not

We have a set of cds 5k springs I'm my brothers 180 pump and for pulling they work great. Really touchy from idle to half throttle then rocket up after that. They have to be installed from a virgin pump if following the instructions. Otherwise the recommended setup won't work right. My honest opinion is the Scheid 5k springs are the best for a driver truck.

Set stud protrusion at .035-.045" (should be 4 clicks) and machine the springs (5k springs) down to 1.450" and they should work fine. Your pump is not junk, they just like to sell springs that are the incorrect height and rope in a lot more money when they don't work correctly.

What do you think about the shims people have said to put back in the pump, and you do mean both springs correct

The idle shims will help also, usually there is a .020" wear washer (large OD and small ID) as well as .010-.030" idle shim (same ID and OD as the idle spring).

Yes, both of the heavy springs in the 5k kit need machined down to 1.450"

It still has wear washer in it and what's the best way to machine the springs down

I would think to lay sandpaper on a flat surface and rub the spring in a figure 8 motion and keep measuring with a mic or caliper... Seth would know better than I though.
