No, it was that vicious coolant line that B's have run without for 100 yrs ?

Probably gonna be next week, im in the que at D&J Performance for a Stage 1 head so hopefully it ships then???

Bit the bullet and went ahead and got a BD Iron Horn kit coming, the S363SXE/76 0.91 A/R to get rid of the VGT. Ordered non-VGT tune and keeping stock injectors, not trying to go wild with this thing but the turbo was tired at 184k after looking at it more closely, has considerable amount of in n out play on shaft. Rather just get something more reliable than have this one fail after all this repair work ?

Hell of a head gasket swap! Ha nice upgrades.

Oh hell yeah.
I like the idea of stock injectors. So many people go the overkill route on nozzle size, which can make it a nightmare to tune. Stock injectors aren't always the best choice, but they do have tons more potential than they're given credit for.
That turbo should work very well for you. No more exhaust brake, but that's something you can add back if you miss it too much.

This thing has 184k on the ticker and after the condition of some parts after getting it apart, id rather spend the money now and go as much new as possible. This truck has to last my son for quite some time so making sure of it ?

That Industrial Injection deal was hard to pass up, especially with new Cummins brand feed tubes. I got a good warranty plus didn't have to pay a core charge so gonna get some money back for existing injectors ?
Ur right about the air side tho, its the smallest of the BD Iron Horn line up which is still bigger than stock plus the reduced drive pressure should make this truck run very well

I am partially afraid of the tune because the EZ Link AA3 essentially 'stacks and/or modifies' the existing tune and I have no idea what tune that is right now. I'm assuming its nothing extreme but once its back together I have a non-VGT tune that I will download from the cloud and just keep fingers crossed ?
I'm told the only other way to verify new tune will work is to get dealer factory reflash then install new tune but not sure how I can get truck to dealer if it doesn't even run right but obviously won't know till I fire engine up.
Hopefully cylinder head gets shipped next week, it's approaching my alloted lead time ???

You should be able to pull the ECM and have it bench flashed, although I'm not 100% sure since it's not a commercial engine. Are you planning to stick with EZ Lynk?

Didn't think to pull it and have it flashed but yes, ive spent enough money n i just want a basic tune that runs efficiently for this thing. Gonna install the SOtF switch but probably never go above level 2 or 3
If it does run hard or funny, that's a good idea, just pull it n take it to get reflashed to stock then attempt the new tune install again since it will be modifying the original factory tune
