whats needed for 600 and 800 h.p. in a early 99 ab injector powerstroke.

i have seen some with over 800, just wondering whats needed. does it need to be converted to mechanical. i like the cummins, but i would like to keep the 7.3.

Just give up now and save yourself a thousand headaches

well to be honest 800 is gona be rough especially without nos.. you can reach600 with injectors, big oil pump, turbos (a twin setup) but your also gona have to upgrade the head stauds, main gurdle, basically its gona cost atleast $10,000 to reach what you dreaming of......but I still love my 7.3

i really like my 6 speed stick, how does the 12 valve cummins respond to a 6 speed

whats a cummins cost and whats needed for a 800 hp cummins. will i save money after a conversion.

It is going to take a lot of coin to get where you want to go. I say if you can afford to get it there than do it. Too many people just give up on Powerstrokes and we have alot more advancements on the HEUI system and more are steadily coming out. I say stick with it and do something that some of these people are losing hope in. Look at Canadian Redneck going over 1000 hp with a 6.0. The technology is coming along, it has taken a while but it is well worth waiting for.

a lot less than the 10 grand you're looking at to do the 7.3...if you plan on using spray to get to 800 then shootin for the 600 range on #2 will be fairly affordable compared to trying to build the 7.3

There is a lot of advancements in the HPOP's now and there is alot more tuners out that are really good at getting every little bit of power out of them.

im not really used to diesels i have always had hemis, and v-10s, 460s, 383s, im just looking for somthing that will really feel alot faster than my old gassers. my stock 4wd ext cab v10 is faster than my 2wd reg cab 7.3 so its kinda not what i expected.

yes, all stock like the v10 . i just thought a lighter 7.3 could handle a heavier v-10.

The 7.3 is not lighter.

Buy a flip chip and get your wallet out for what happens next. You just think you want 600 Hp. If you rode in a truck that put six bills on the ground. You would chit your pants compared to what you have now. Hell, 4 bills would blow you away at this point.

if i were you first thing i would get a custom tuned chip for your truck. fordguy24 did a custom burned chip and it woke his truck up from what it was

i dont mean the engines, the trucks the v10 is a 4wd extra cab and the 7.3 is a 2wd reg cab and now a shortbed. sorry for the dumb post but i dont know anything about diesels. i would like to keep my 7.3. im thinking for now a cold air intake, a good chip, dont know what one yet, no mufflers or cat into shorty stacks, injecter mods, i think i have ab,s in it since its a early 99. bigger turbo and what a the hpop, what do you upgrade there.

Im still trying to get to 4 bills to see how that feels like. I may be there but its hard for me to tell, because I keep having stupid little things holding me back from running it on the dyno again.
