It only had a little to do with the thread. Weston's issue also came from more on a personal level with people attacking him in other measures other than in the open where you guys could read it. I may have voiced my issues in the open with Weston, but he knew where I was coming from. We had exchanged PM's before he left and we were totally fine with each other and knew where each other was coming from.

Unfortunately there is more to the story than what a lot of you guys know and there are assumptions that it was all in the thread, when it was not. I think Weston has thick enough skin to deal with a little poking and prodding in the open.

I still dont think its right. He always post good info and then gets bashed by the big guys, pretty much calling him a liar.

Weston is a GREAT asset to this site and I personally hope he returns. He once gave me diagnosis on a pump over the phone that 2, I repeat 2, Bosch authorized pump rebuilders couldnt figure out with the pump on their stands. After I took it back to them and told them what to check they were astounded and wanted to know how I figured it out....I said Weston on Comp D told me over the phone. Ive got his number here and not just in my rolodex but scratched into my office desk top next to only 3 other numbers that mean alot to me. You rock Weston and as a shop owner I applaud you for your expertise and hope you soon return to my favorite pit-stop on the web.
 
I'm really sad that he is gone. I always read the threads that I saw him posting in because I knew there was good and truthful information, no matter how short his posting was. 5 pages of (mostly) condolences for a guy who is just taking a break (hopefully). That tells me how important Weston is to this site.

Does anyone have his contact information? I was going to give him a pm this week about building me a set of injectors, and the news in this thread kind of floored me this morning. So, if anyone is willing, PLEASE PM ME WESTON'S CONTACT INFO. Thanks.

When I talked to Weston last night he informed me that he plans to put tech articles back up. They will be put up in sticky form and will be locked so they cannot be responded to. He told me the new articles will be better than the previous ones.

Mentioned elsewhere in this thread is something about a lawsuit.

If a vendor indeed threatened a lawsuit because of ones knowledge that is sad.

Sorry but Weston shared knowledge last time I checked that alone could not be copyrighted or trade marked of what someone has learned through experience.

Whatever the assumption or what the back story is behind this matter, Weston was not arrogant, I think the arrogance in this situation comes from those feeling the need to silence quality information that he provided through legal or other means (personal attacks)

You know I know the vendors and sponsor keep the forum afloat with funding but Weston had good knowledge and I would rather pay the forum a monthly subscription to get this info than hear when the next sale was at one of the sponsors.
 
saber123316 - weston left because he was fed up with all the internet BS, and Personal attacks at the time. he left due to the fact that he felt his information was not appreciated, more criticized than praised, even though there were many people on this board, including myself that welcomed his information, and enjoyed learning from him, and his posts. there was no lawsuit or anykind as stated above by timbeaux. Weston is not gone, he will be back with his knowledge when he feels ready, weston now has the time to get all his little projects started/ and or completed, and focus on what he does best. im sure that he will bring back more information, and better products for us mechanically injected folks than he had before.

weston has built such a reputation with his ridicoulos amount of knowledge, knowledge that he is not afraid of sharing, that i believe has caused fear in other secretive companys. thats just a assumption based on all of the reading i have done off of this forum that has his name in a thread. people like him is what keeps all other companies true. and that is a wonderful asset to have in a forum. this is why i have put comp diesel as #1 on my diesel forum favorites.

another similar guy on here is someone that is building turbos that alot of the big companies have been building but this guy is able to sale his for alot less. go figure. same parts, same turbo but cheaper price. once again, thank you comp diesel for being the best diesel forum. i too would pay a subscription if thats what would be needed to keep people like weston on here.
 
I'm not sure. Weston saved me a bunch of money. Not by buying parts from him but telling me what he knew worked and where to get it or giving me the information I needed. I know it's hard for people like Scheid or Haisley to take the time to explin everything like he could. Customer relations go a long way.

Nothing against them, I only used them as examples and have bought from both.
