Monster Pump Mike Torque Converter

Well its either gonna be at maybe Bowling Green or more than likely at Muncie dragway because its only 45 minutes away from us . We met Mike at Fort Wayne on Tuesday an went over his TC . Wow we were impressed with it and very anxious to try it . :rockwoot: Cant wait !

Well thats awesome man Im glad that you like the TC. I love mine so far and cant wait to get some passes on it.Yeah Im hoping to take my truck to Bowling Green but I am having some fueling issues that hopefully I have worked out this weekend.
Keep me posted though because regaurd less of where your gonna run I want to come watch.

Well the converter has held up great so far. Been doing some boosted launches at about 20lbs and no slipping at all. Also when I lock it up in second it pulls really hard also. Ill be stacking a TST49 with my Smarty for some extra HP.

Hey CSIDodge did you run down in Bowling Green this past weekend or have you got a chance to try Mikes converter out?

Well here you go guys! You all wanted know if Mike's converter could hold up to some power, well CSIDODGE ran a 9.31 and he has a slip and video of it. CSI also has a thread started in the drag racing link too. Im still beating the crap out of mine everyday also:rockwoot: Here is the video.

Hows it holding up since that run? made any other runs on the tq converter?

I am guessing you take the convertor apart and that is how it bolts to the crank.

it should have a flexplate like the old chrysler 727 units and just bolt thru its the same set up the new 6.7 dodges uses with dual mass flywheels except its a torque converter instead

I heard it had some issues and lasts about as long as the other competitors torque converters.

Imagine that......

No offense meant to Mike or whatever, but converters of any type don't work for long when bolted to stupid-horsepower diesel motors.

i have had no issues at all with mine however Mike has made a few small changes since i got mine converter locks really nice i havent had 1 act like this ever really considering putting 1 in my tow rig

Care to explain how this one "acts" that's different than any other converter?

Got any details on the actual failure?

Sorry, I didnt explain myself better conv. clutch slippage when monitered thru driveshaft speed on my others normally ran 15-20% Mikes is so far about 5% average.

That's what I figured you meant. Thanks for the clarification.

The week after that run CSI was at the track and couldn't get the truck down the track. All I was told was that he had converter issues. Before everyone gets too excited and say that this is the next best thing to sliced bread, maybe the converter needs to be tested first. A couple 600hp trucks with no issues doesn't constitute a test in my book, especially with Mike making them. Just ask the guys that bought his monster pumps. I'd say 25% of them failed.

with Mike making them? what are you getting at? do you make converters? do you make injectors? vp's? lines? what do you do? really 25% failed where would that # come from? and everyone of them that failed he replaced stood by his prodeuct when you bring a new performance product to the market you can expect bugs and problems. Id have to say from personal experience and use of his products they are pretty damn good. Highest hp from a vp ever on record mikes products. The fastest vp on record guess what Mikes products. So id say the things he makes are pretty good man. Have you have even used a product of his?
