04 engine in 05 truck

I know there were some updates from 03-04 to 05-07 6.0l. Will a 04 engine "bolt in" to an 05 truck (electrical wise). And for an estimation, how many hours would the job take? Thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't bolt right in. Some things are different as far as the intake manifold, STC fitting, etc... but the physicallity of the motor itself isn't any different. The wiring harness may be different though, as the 05-07 SuperDutys came with more electronics on the dash and things like that.

The electronics is the part I'm concerned about. I'll do some more reading after work

Im sure it wouldnt be too bad. I would bet all the electrical would be pretty simple and most of the sensor holes would be there for the 05 harness.
