Trying to make sense of the LDA adjustments on my 1.6 idi. There is very general info I have found but nothing in depth. I adjusted my max fuel screw and a couple idle screws and got it tuned in to my best abilities. It has a little throttle hang if u get in the high rpms and it did run away from me once but I backed the max fuel screw out and adjusted idle accordingly. But now id like to adjust the lda but I need some guidance. How does it work and is its function similar to an AFC on a 12valve?

LDA and AFC are one and the same on the VE. LDA is just the German word for AFC.

Ok. So if I run the adjustment screw on the lda downwards will that give me more fuel at lower boost ? Or is it the other way around? Shooting for less fuel at low boost because right now it blows a good puff of smoke each time I grab a gear and id like to clean it up a little.

Down= more fuel at less boost.

Run it up just to the point of the spring binding at full travel. It helps a lot.
