Am I forgetting anything?
Girdle
Main studs
Rod bolts
Rods shot peened
Marine pistons
Balanced

Its a DD build that hasnt started yet but going to start gathering parts very soon. I am not going to be shooting for the hp goal right off the bat, I just want to build the engine once and be done with it.

When it is time to do the head do you think that o-rings are the way to go? I have heard of fire rings cracking with numerous heat cycles.

I just reccomend at first do the test drive with 700 hp truck ......:kick:
 
I don't think he's planning on making a 1000hp DD, probably just wants a bulletproof bottom end just in case. I'm in the process of doing the same thing.

Exactly. My CR is just shy of 700 right now and want to do the same thing in a 12v but want to only build it once. I like to go a little over the top when I do things so I dont have to go back and do it over again
