What was the reason for pistons and rods?

Awesome!It was a 5.9 truck, and now a 6.7 shortblock. We don't build cummins engines without putting good rods in them. There's really no point. The 12v rod is not strong enough for a 6.7 engine. The 5.9's get away with not grenading because they don't make as much torque typically as the 4.890" stroke 6.7 engine. Don't put 12v rods in your 6.7 expecting to make over 850hp and have it live!
