Talked with Mountain Power Performance at PRI. They have 50 castings in stock ready to machine and ship. You can buy a head with guides and seats for <$4k or fully setup and ready to bolt on for <$6k.

They had the head they ran all year on their pulling truck at PRI.

Without looking like the other thread, it looks awful similar to Fatt.

Interesting! From the same state to I believe. Did they buy the design from Fatt or did Fatty change their name? Fatt website doesn't exist any more

It is Fatt's head they bought the rights from. For the 4kish price it flows ~30-40 cfm more than a stock 12v head IIRC. If you want it to flow well, they have cnc drawings for an additional price.

What is the gain besides weight? I'm guessing its more repairable if there is damage?

Someone who was at PRI text me a loaded head only weighs 40 lbs. Can anyone confirm that?

Just for reference. Aluminum is 170 pounds per cubic ft. Cast is roughly 440 pound but it depends on density. So I could see the aluminum head weighs 50-60 pounds

^Wade's right. Not even close to the right weight. It weighs 42lbs... The guys still seem shady to me though. Same town as Fatt, "bought the rights", and offer the exact same deal and managed to get 50 for release. And I think Weston said it in the other thread, its an alcohol casting. You can see the combustion chamber in the 2nd pic.

Can anyone tell what the raised casting says on the head? On the rear of the head.

I'm ignorant to alcohol. How does one determine from the second picture the the head is for an alkyhaul.

spark plugs. Not injectors. Or injector "adapters" that were to thread into plug holes.

It's a half a$$ed crossbreed wanna be alcohol/diesel head. The "chamber", valve angles, ports and plug location sucks for gas/alcohol. When injector adapters start spitting out they'll find out that wasn't the best plan.

Make one or the other. some things shouldn't be universal.

That's what I thought, that they were making an adaptable head. I couldn't see threads in the picture.

It wouldnt be hard to just machine the head for an injector instead of a plug. Hell, its a hole. With a register and a set depth instead of threaded.

I still say buy a hamilton head now, or wait a little and buy his max effort head when it hits the market, it will still be diesel specific, outperform this one by miles, and somehow still be more affordable.

Looking forward to seeing the war head perform well! I saved those pictures because they were so sexy! Lol

When is the new war head suppose to debut?
