The two zeros on the cam gear line up with the one zero on the crank gear at TDC on the compression stroke, so I screwed up and installed it 180 degrees out correct?

I took it as you installed it wrong, then fixed it. Like Mathews stated, it the cam and crank are aligned, it's good.

Well you can install it with the marks lined up at TDC compression or TDC exhaust.. What I'm saying I think I'm supposed to do is pull the cam out rotate it 180 degrees and line the marks up.. I just wanna make sure I'm not overthinkin..

If the marks on the gears are ligned up its in time. Cam position determines tdc exhaust or tdc compression.

Cam gear is 2x as big as the crank gear, and it determines what stroke you are on, therefore if the marks are lined up correctly you can't install it on the wrong stroke.

There should only be 1 mark on the crank gear for lining it up to the cam gear.
