What temp thermostat are people running for a daily driver and a race application on a 12 valve?

I run a 190deg 2nd Gen 24V TStat. It stays at 190 plus a slight fluctuation both ways. When I first did it, it actually gave me very slightly better mileage. Almost 1mpg on long trips (back in the day).

A guy did the 200* stat over on CF & picked up about 1 mpg, looks like it's 1 mpg per 10*. I run the 190* just for the mpg benefit

Just go straight for the 500* or 750* thermostat, that way you can get some real mileage! LOL

lol I probably wont ever go past a stock rating. 180 for 12v was fine. 24v is 190, so I figure that's okay. 6.7's are still 190 correct?

I'm going to try a 190* in my new race/ daily driver 12v engine with electric water pump.

What is the factory 12v stat setting from 97?
