Thanks. I welded them all up. Then used a rotary file on the die grinder to smooth out the weld and then cleaned everything up with the soft wheel.

Grabbed a readily available gm trans mount off the shelf at autozone. So the engine will be on it's own weight and I can start on the 4 link setup in rear.
I will also be starting a 58 Edsel big block Chevy swap today. Anyone know of a forum where they would appreciate that build? I'm thinking the H.A.M.B.

You have to file the holes on that mount? I used a standard mount for a Caprice turbo 350 had to file holes to fit.

We like most anything around here. Start a new thread with the pictures.

BUT don't stop this thread.

Looks to be the same trans mount that guys are using in their Dmax trucks. So far, so good. :)

Wrapped up the trans mount. Had some adjustments to make. I tilted the bracket so that the mount is not being twisted.

Disassembled engine for regasket. Bummer.
Bottom end is clean as a whistle. Just got some moisture up top. The shop I had it stored in was notorious for taking on water and being damp. But I had no where else to keep stuff at the time.
It's not as bad as it looks. That's all tranny fluid I dumped in there so I could hit the rust with a scuff pad.
I'll have it hot tanked and go from there.

If you back off the rocker arms to close all the valves when you store an engine it really helps to eliminate this problem. Great build. :Cheer:
