1983 Fummins Build

Nope! Truck was bought and stayed here in California all its life.

Blasted and painted trans case. My rebuild kit minus my shim set showed up today. I also have everything loose on the engine except motor mounts so its ready to come out.

Another day, another mess. Pulled cab and steam cleaned everything today including the Ford frame.

So I picked up a bigger bearing splitter tonight. I have the main shaft 95% apart just couldn't find my 3 jaw puller. It looks like I'll have to buy a input shaft. The bearing spun on the shaft a good bit and it has blueing from getting hot.

Cold here today so I didn't do much. I did swap the tail housing and speed sensor/gear between the two transfer cases today. I need to get two snap tings though that hold the bearing in the tail housing on both. One stretched and the other was broke when I pulled it apart.

Can anyone share with me how to wire the VP44 to run without using the Dodge wiring?

Well work picked up so I haven't really made any progress on this. My input shaft and last few transmission pieces so maybe if we get some down time I'll get it back together and make my engine mounts.

Yeah I know Mark. I got rid of the Crew but still have my Cummins donor truck. I'm looking for another 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban

Do you need a stock 4500 input? I'm fairly certain I still have mine.

Nice build!
