If you did'nt already know, make sure you get the right counter shaft for the casting you have. I didnt know and now have no reverse in my rebuilt NV4500, so back out with that!
Got the NV4500 out today. Inside wasn't as bad as I was thinking but the dam case is cracked from the idiots half ass putting it together last time they "fixed" it.

great inside the transmission though. I'm pretty sure this had a 241DLD behind it. Does anyone know if the input shafts are interchangeable from the 241DLD and the 241DHD? I have that 241DHD behind the 47rh that will accept a speed sensor. I'd like to use it since my 10.25 rear doesn't have one.
To make my speedometer work. My crew has no wiring so I'm going to use all the donors harness and instruments. It will be about half Dodge and half ford when its done.
Thats the plan. The one out of the 99 is a DLD I believe and I need to use the 95 241DHD from behind the 47rh. My question is are the inputs interchangeable between the 241DLD and the 241DHD? For some reason part of the text above didn't copy over.
This was the text that was suppose to go with the pics.
Well I pulled the rest of the trans apart this morning. I fought 5th gear for over and your to get that dang thing off. Everything else looked great inside the transmission though. Yeah I figured this way would be easier for me. I think I'm just going to order my engine mounts instead of messing with trying to build a set also to save time. I still haven't made my mind up on that though.
Looking good so far, Andy. This makes me want to buy my dad's '86 back from the new owner and find a donor truck or just a Cummins alone. F-350 crew cab DRW 2wd 6.9L with a well built C6 auto with a GV overdrive behind it and 4.10 gears in the Sterling 10.25. Only had 212,xxx miles on it when we sold it. Mechanically, it was in great shape. The body was straight with the exception of a pulled dent in the rear passenger door. A little body work and paint would've made it a great looking truck!
