1984 Dodge D350 Crew Cab 12v Twin Turbo

Picked Up a set of second gen bench seats yesterday. Thinking about putting another set in the back in place of the stock rear bench seat. Also got the new transmission tunnel roughed in. now i need to weld it in. Hoping to have the motor started some time next week also!

Have been realy busy lately and haven't been working on the truck but here is a quick update.

Was finnaly able to get it fired up! Here is a quick video of it I running for the first time. http://instagram.com/p/pexwSbHM89/.

Now time to get all the charged air piping built!

Got the fuel leak fixed, it was the an fitting i used on the overflow bolt it the housing of the pump, rotated it and it seals properly now. Let the engine idle for around 15 min or so. sounds great! The i set the throttle to around 1500 rpm for 5 minuets or so to let the cam break in. Hopefully this week i can start to fabricate the charged air piping. After that i can wiggle the truck out from where its been sitting for about a year and get it up on the lift to get all the break lines done.

On a side note if anyone has a set of front doors from a early first gen (pre 1987) i am in the market for them. the ones on the truck now are from a 91 and its driving me nuts that the insides dont match my rears.

messed around last night and got the floor all welded up. Next i need to get some more bedliner and cover all the new metal with it. Still thinking of what to use for a floor in the truck since no one makes a molded carpet for it i am thinking of finding some kinda rubber mating, like whats on the floor of a work truck. Last night i also began fabing up the charged air piping. Looks terrible now but i plan on getting it powder coated black with a textured finish.

Next week i plan on taking the wheels off my daily driver truck witch has 19.5s on it and trying them out on the crew cab. Here is a picture of them on my truck now i had 22.5s on my old 2004 and honestly like the 19.5s better. ill see how they look next week.

Got both sides of the intercooler piping built over the weekend. They are ugly as sin right now but i Sent them off to powder coat to get a satin black textured finish. was not as bad of a project as i thought. now i need to figure out my top radiator hose, it needs to have a set of back to back 90s to clear the new piping, i want it to be all one piece not a bunch of small elbows pieced together, back to the drawing board on that one.......

Looking great! I missed what you're doing for motor mounts...did you go with the aftermarket poly mounts? Or are you chaining the engine? Intercooler piping looks great...just wondering if you're going to have problems with engine movement/flex with only one short boot.

how much boost are you planning on seeing? I am kind of worried about the rubber...

Motor mounts are aftermarket polly first gen style. i am kinda concerned about movement on that one rubber boot but i dont have alot of options its a very tight area to work with and one end needs to be fixed to the plenum. other people must be running this set up also since most plenums are a front mount. Will have to wait and see how it works out.

not to sure on what numbers i will end up with. my last truck was a 2004 with a 62 over a 75 and that made around 75 to 80# of boost so i would guies this truck would be upwards of 100# since the turbos are a larger and i will be running alot more fuel than my 2004. I used this style silicone boots on my last truck with dual clamps and they held great so i am hoping they will work on this. i may have to make some sort of retainer that mounts to each clamp to keep them from separating i have seen them on heavy trucks and equipment befor i will see if i can dig up a picture of what i am talking about.

On my friends Cummins he has 2 ball studs with a turnbuckle holding the pipes so they can't separate. Them the boots Only have to stay on and not hold the pipes together
