1996 and 2000 7.3L the same engine?

i have a 2000 F-650 with a cracked engine block. is a 96 7.3L and the 2000 engines the same, or atleast the engine blocks the same?
 
Yes they are. Strip it to the long block. Plug the obs fuel pump with a 7/8th freeze plug. Swap all the goodies from the SD. Good to go.
 
Isnt there a heater hose nipple that comes of one head that needs to be plugged or am I thinkin of a van engine?And isnt the W/P elbow different??
 
Block, and heads are for the most part the same. Thats why you should strip it down side by side. And copy from the sd to the obs motor.
