1997 F350 SRW frame off w/ compounds

I'm happy for a derail... I'm running out of places to put it. Spent four hours pushing back piles from the plowguy, still have a couple hours left to run a path to the back shed and to dig out the standby generator. Supposed to get another 5" tonight??? :bang

I'm in the midcoast area, Brunswick/Topsham/Freeport.

Another storm here so it's been slow in the shop.

I've decided to hire out the wetsanding and buffing, if anyone knows of a good guy in the northeast...

Got started on the transmission crossmember, installed trans and t case, and pulled the drivetrain from my '57 to make it easier to move around.

Front hubs/brakes rebuilt, trans and tcase sitting on new crossmember, driveshaft installed. Rear brakes are left, and I have to run lines.

Bed got Linex'd today but they screwed it up so I had to leave it for correction.

How did they screw up your Line-X? Our are pealing out of our work trucks and they won't fix them.

Areas where the wire tape was pulled have lifted slightly. They also coated over some screws that were in the front of the bed. :soap:

One of the local Line-x places did a friend of mine's truck and he had areas taped off and wrote instructions on the body. They sprayed right over it. I couldn't believe it.

I picked it up today, it will do for this truck but no way I would go back again for a more involved restoration.

Curious where did you have it done? We have had several work trucks done at Bangor Truck Equipment. They've always done a good job for us.

Put close to 1000 miles on the truck to date. Runs great, wet sand and buff came out great too. Only things left are front driveshaft, gauge install, and hookup a/c. I will likely leave those to whoever buys it as it is for sale!

A friend is finishing his 351/475 twins and was wondering about his waste gate setup. You mentioned yours is spring controlled (I'm assuming the factory setup), are you using a boost reference to actuate the waste gate or just letting the drive pressure open the puck? Also, is your waste gate port ported to the larger diameter? Do you have any pics of your mounting for the bottom charger? Thanks!

I'm running a gate on the 351 only, it utilizes the stock gate but I changed the position of it and the length of the rod so as to fit in the tight space I had. It is set up to use boost reference.

The bottom charger does not have a support per se, I'm running a 1" T6 to 3.5" OD pipe adapter from Keating Machine, and I built a bracket that runs from that spacer up to the exhaust manifold bolts on ports 5 and 6.
