Is there a difference in the non- intercooled heads vs. the intercooled 2nd gen heads? or are the injector holes different?
 
i believe you can buy new copper washer that are sleeved so you can put the 7mm injectors into the 9mm head

they have the copper washer that goes on the bottom of the injector and then a sleeve that extends into the head
 
you can run 7mm in 9mm holes without the brass sleeve with no problem. stock brass works just fine. just makes sure its seated in the head and torqed.
 
Grind the spot for the overflow valve before you put the head on. Its a pain after its assembled.
 
The biggest concern with the 9mm head is the fact that they are extremely prone to cracking from valve-injector-valve. Just make sure its not cracked to hell and the 9-7mm sleeves are easily available from cummins or any injection shop if you want to use 7mm tips (they come with most injector install kits i have gotten also)
