24V Damper on a 12V

So I've been searching trying to figure this out. But I'm doing a 3rd gen 12V swap and the stock damper is rough. So I'm looking at the fluid damper and since I'm using a 3rd gen tone ring I don't need the relocation kit that comes with the 12V kit. Looking over FD specs between the 12V and 24V dampers it seems they're almost identical with the 24V being 0.1lbs less. And since it doesn't come with the kit its about $50 cheaper.

Just curious if anyone has swapped dampers around and had any issues.

Just a follow up. Per FD yes you can use the 98.5-02 in place of the 12V damper as the backspacing and damping are the same.

The stock 3rd gen tone ring will not fit behind the damper on a 12 valve you got to run it external on the front.
