hey, i have a 98/99 4400 model tractor, with a yanmar diesel, anyone know how to turn the fuel up just a touch? i want just like 3-5 more ponies out of it.... and how hard is it to add a small turbo too??

Thanks,
Andrew

pretty sure that all the lil deeres are electronic fuel.... my 5320 is.

how new is yours??? mine is from like 98 or 99 and its def a little inline pump(looks a lot like a P-Pump) my new 3720 i have at work has the same pump, but it has a BABY turbo on it

there is a nut with a dome on the end of it on the back of the injection pump remove the dome nut and loosin the jam nut and then adjust it out some its a fuel stop screw the turbo thing would not be wise the compression on that motor is like 22:1 i did do one on a little yanmar and made 3 psi of boost and it was a screamer is urs a hydro or a prt

mine is a hydro, and the one at work is an e-hyrdo... but when you say back of the pump do you mean take it off and its on the back side, or the back side of the tractor as in facing the back? and i was gonna say i want a turbo for my 997 too!!

at the end closes to u when ur sittin in the seat the govener end close to the bottom and the 997 with a turbo would be bad@$$$$$$$

The turbo we put on was off a chrysler car. It was really probably a lil big but I sounded like a sweet 4440 with a straight pipe the turbo was mounted high above the valve cover and turbo drain went into the valve cover

well how big of one would work?? the one on the 3720 at work is itty bitty!! haha like 4 or 5 cm in overall diameter?? and how much would a little turbo like that be?? and what size john deers have/had the Borg warner S480's?

dang!! i always hear everyone saying the S480's are cheap to just go get from a John Deer Dealer, but apparently not!! can you get your hands on a used one!! and one of the morons that works for/with me, put a gallon and a half of straight hydrofluid in the 3720 E-Hyrdo at work today!! so i told the facilities director he might as well go get a trailer and load it up and take it to the dealer now before the system destroys itself! i straight up told all the supervisors and that moron yesterday that you can not put straight hyrdo fluid in those, they take the John Deer HighGuard/High Trans fluid or whatever its called, but hell ive had a hydro for 12 years now and what the heck do i know about maintaning them!! and he also tried to add hydro fluid to the front diff!! :bang: :badidea: so he just grabbed whatever kind of gear oil he could find, no care in the world what the weight was compared to what was already in the tractor!! and the funny thing was to top it all off.... neither the hyrdo or the front diff fluid levels were low!!

na sorry i have been tryin to get one but heck i dont ever see a 9000 where work and when i was in john deere college thats all i worked on rear ends mostly. the 3720 takes low visicity hygard not to threat i have seen people put atf in some and the front axle it wont hurt it different oil is better than no oil sound like he had good intensions AT LEAST HE CHECKED IT LOL so many dont and i have yet to see many cheap i put a A&I turbo that cost $350 brand new on a 1st gen it was little laggy but when it spooled :hehe::hehe:

yeah, he did check, but he didnt even need to be! haha all the vehicle maintenence and repairs come in my name(i work at the new casino 10 miles from my house!) so i get all the check ups and everything so he had no business checking, and they wernt even low enough to add anything

Most of the S400's that come on a 9000 deere have 1.32 A/R exhaust housings on them. I had one up until a few weeks ago. I triedt o get a smaller exhaust housing for it but had no luck. The particular S400 deere uses is not a popular model I was told. With the exhaust wheel they have in them there is only one size housing for it. I do not know if all 9000 turbos are this way or not. The one I had came off a 9520. Jus my 2 cents.

Chris
