98.5 DRW , EJWA , 1500 triple disc, SA dunrite VB.

Can't manually shift into 2nd or 1st and won't down shift into 1st while in D.
I noticed the shifter was out of adjustment... could explain no manual shift.
JUST put a dunrite VB w/ all new electronics due to the governor solenoid was toast causing upshift issues.

Shifter adjustment prevent 1st in drive? Sounds like limp mode, still has lockup and OD.

Ran just fine towing a 8800lb load 40miles, never got hot.
Then the way home- bam no 1st... didn't seem to go to 2nd much.
That got it hot :( :doh:
 
Gov solenoid must have lost power . Maybe came unhooked . Check codes
 
They don't always set codes . When its acting up check gov pressure actual , if zero than there is most likely to be a transducer problem
 
That would really sucks because I just put a new one in less than 1k miles ago.
 
Governor pressure transducer but not bad.
Forgot to install a 150ohm resistor in the the supply side per VB instructions... magically fixed it. Funny as it took months after install to appear.

They don't always code - you need to see the data coming in to the PCM from the Trans gov system

Also had one once where a relay was losing contact in the fuse block, and it wanted to stay in (I think) 3rd...
