my friend Buck wants to put an auto in his 50 GMC so im looking for a core or good 47rh and a stock converter to start. let me know what you have.

thanks Mark, im sure we will find something sooner or later. its still going to be a couple weeks before the service truck will be back on the road but the '50 will be next on the list.

I'm not a Chevy man, per-se, but I appreciate the old GMCs/Chevy of that age.
I learned to drive stick on a '49 Chevy.

I'll keep my eyes open for a tranny.
You need a 2wd or a 4wd?

2wd, i suppose a re would work also since a manual vb is planned. not much more is needed since we are hopeing for 400hp out of this thing and it only wieghs around 5k..

found a couple local 4x4 trannies cheap.. isnt someone making a tailshaft housing that fits the 4x to make it a 2wd?
