6.0 headgasket failure??

Ive got a buddy with a 05 auto and 107k. When he is pulling trailers hard, the water temp gets hot and it blows water out of the overflow real bad. He herd it might be the egr cooler, so we pulled the valve out, jacked up the back end several feet, and presurized the water system. It didnt leak into the egr. So where else would it blow air into the water besides the head or head gasket?
This truck has been to the shop quite often, and he hauls heavy trailers over the country.
 
Its not that the EGR cooler leaks air, its that it superheats the coolant in it and causes it to Flash boil, hence causes puking. You have to remove the up pipe, and block the flow of exhaust into the egr cooler.
 
But it just started to do this, and he has been pulling trailers for a year with it.
 
Then that sounds like a different story, sounds like the head gaskets.
