6.0 shutters and acts weird when cold

My 05 6.0 when sits longer than 4 hours and cools off it runs fine at any rpm under 2000 but as soon as i get above that it shutters and acts like it is missin or the turbo is sticking but once the truck warms up to operating temp it runs perfectly fine any ideas???
 
I was talking to a buddy about that he told me about hot shots oil additive that is supposed to help with sticking injectors have you had any experience with this kind of stuff does it work or is it a hoax
