727 big block and diesel trans the same bolt pattern?

I am picking up a totaled 87 f350 tomorrow with a non intercooled 12v 727 and gear vendors combo. Truck is 2wd and i am pulling the drivetrain for my 87 f350 4x. My question is do I need to be searching for a complete diesel 4x4 trans or will a 440 case bolt up. Also need to know if a passenger side drop 2nd gen t case will bolt up. The gear vendors will be up for sale or trade for first gen performance parts if any one is interested.

Dang! Well than next question is what is involved in converting the trans to 4x do I have to full disassemble it to swap output shaft and tail housing?
