Me and my brother are going to start on this beauty in a couple weeks. Still gathering parts and prep the shop for room to work. It's a 1978 Ford F-250 4x4 with a 460 and auto. Pulling that out and putting a 1994 12v with a NV4500 with either the 241 DHD or the 205 transfer case.

This will be the first Ford we have done so any advice is welcome. Cause if this goes well we will have two or three more to do. Between our full time jobs we hope to have it done come October.

That will be a great truck. I wish I had the time and money to build my own. Good luck with the project and keep us updated with lots of pic's.
 
Will do. Plan to document well since there might be upto three more to do
 
Also forgot to mention we are getting rid of the vacuum operated brakes and converting to hydra boost.
 
Love that body style ford and always wanted to do one, but my 86 was available and 4x4 long bed so I settled. Good looking truck can't wait to see what you do with it.
 
That is fine F250, always wanted to do a conversion to this body style!
 
Received the engine started year down to blast and paint. Should have the truck sometime this week hopefully. Will be getting a full oxide blast then painted black with a high temp paint. This engine came out of a truck used as a plow truck and the salt got to a lot of te engine. The reason behind doing an oxide blast.

The stock one was a son of a to get off we ended up breaking the tabs to get it off the broken bolts. Salt does terrible things to these engines. The pan was almost rusted all the way through.
 
Great job picking out the the I wish I had a CC instead of my supercab.It's pretty easy putting on the hydroboost system you will like it alot better.Can't wait to see the finnished truck.

I need too start putting parts together for hydroboost, my brakes suck.
 
Got a/c and alternator test fit.

Was given wrong compressor it should of 90 out the side instead of straight out.
 
how is the fitment between the oil filter and where the ac lines will hook? I made a bracket to put the ford ac about where the dodge ac was and I only have about 1 1/2-2".
