I have picked a 6bt cummins block and a lot of spares to build it ( yeah, why to buy an engine if i can build it ) a rear Dana 70 and front Dana 60. I want a ZF S5 420 too.

I couldn´t find an engine to buy, but I found this block.

A friend who has a 4bt in a 250 and has a lot of spares gave me part of what I need to build the holly 6BT

I need all of these:

Crank, cam, new ring set, exhaust, turbo, carter, oil pan, head... and the injection pump.

but now I'm in the critical part of finding a injection pump.

first I wanted a VE44 pump, the same as the 1° gen cummins 89 93. But after read a lot of articles and a lot of info on this forum I decided I want a p pump. 215HP will be great but here we have no 12V rams, just a lot of Ford and VW trucks using 160, 180, and 210 hp cummins 6bt and a lot of cummins 6CT trucks. Tomorrow I will go to see a 220 hp pump, I asume it was taken from a 6CT engine.

Does a 6ct p pump work in a 6bt engine?

PD: I hear suggestions

look for a 180 pump if you can, they are just as good.

where are you from? pics of the truck?

You'll get used to the lingo soon enough. You've come to the right spot for information. That are a few guys on here that sell used Cummins parts. I know it will be a pain to ship to Argentina. Is there quite a few Cummins powered vehicles down there or are they are rare breed?

We have tons of 4bt and 4isb ford pick ups, and millions of Ford Cargo, and VW Worker trucks with 4 and 6, BT, CT and ISB.

But there are no junks here.

I wouldn't be afraid to use a 4bt either

Very cool project, I love that year for the trucks and bronco's.

Where do the vehicles go when they are worn out? Recycled?

The insurance companies retain all those burned and destroyed vehicles, after that they are auctioned to companies that disassemble and sell its parts in their shops or on the web and it is not cheap. Parts of big diesel engines usually are used for truck spare and not go on sale.

To build this 12v as i want to do here is senselessness, but I what I like, so... i must to do it. :rockwoot:

Btw: I was looking for a p pump at ebay and reman are so expensive, at about $1200 plus $1000 for core charge. I must to pay about $1000 for shipping and taxes. Too much.
Maybe some of you want to sell one used p pump

any comments about this pump?
A guy is offering it here

Have you looked in the classifieds here? Usually there are a couple pumps for sale at any given time, some for around $500-800. Like you said, shipping would be the biggest hurdle.

I bought a 79 bronco a couple years ago with the intentions to do this very thing. I have a '94 12v and an NV4500/NP241DLD out of my '98 for it, '79 high pinion D60 and a Dodge D70 for it. But I started looking to other projects and sold most of it off. So I'll be living vicariously through you during this build.

Thanks. But as you said shipping will be too much. Yesterday I was to see that 888 p pump and it was sold. Damm.
They just have a p3000 pump. So I still searching.

finally I got the holly p pump

Hx40s are decent turbos, but they can sometimes have rather large turbine housings.

Ok, but the problem is just the size or how it works ?

I was thinking about the injectors? could I use the 6ct in a 6bt head?

BTW: I have another turbo, a h1c, but It s too small
