85 1 ton gas to diesel

I will be getting my 85 dodge 1 ton back soon (sold it to a friend)
Its a gas motor with a manual trans.
Will the trans work with a cummins or is it the wrong set up?

I think your truck should have a NP435 & a Cummins won't bolt up without a custom adapter plate. Even if you got that far then it would a less than ideal transmission choice. IMO you'd be be better of sourcing a nv5600. Plan on modifying the transmission tunnel to make it fit.
