My neighbor has his 88 f-350, 7.3, 5sp, 2wd, single cab, long bed dually for sale for 2000 obo. I'm sorta in the market for something to turn my current truck into a trailer queen. would this truck have any real trouble pulling a 24 or so ft gooseneck with my truck on it witch weighs anywhere from 6500-9500lb towing in mostly NW ohio ie biggest hill it would see is overpass hill. also it would need to serve as my daily driver so what could I expect as far as mpg and is there anything I should look at as far as problem go with these trucks?

Asd long as your not lookin to make speed records the truck will do as you ask of it. I have a '88 F350 reg Cab 4x4 SRW that was a 7.3l 5spd and I saw 15-16mpg most of the time (Turned up Pump and a High school kid driving). I used it to tow our 24' GN flatbed with everything from round bales to trucks and equipment.. It did it all just not as fast as the Newer Diesels
