93 4x4 ex cab what to do

ok just bought this 93 automatic, 4x4 and am going to restore it to like new shape, haven't drove it yet. If the tranny shifts good should i put a converter and vb or shift kit first before doing any power adders ? Or just do the power adders and then replace the whole tranny. Will post pics when i pics it up.

I would give it a GOOD converter and a shift kit with a full service including band service. Then mod it.
