94 2wd build.

Hey this is my first post on here and I need some help with building my tranny. I've worked on valve bodies in the 47 re but never been inside to mess with the clutches,steels,bands ect. I'm on a tight budget so can I do a stock rebuild and just add a shift kit to the vb for more pressure and add 1 extra clutch and steel to each clutch pack? Any help is greatly appreciated
