94 47RH in a 99 24V?

My buddy's stock trans is starting to slip, we've found a good 47rh out of a 94 12v cummins to replace his while funds and parts are gathered up to rebuild it. My reason for posting is that we're wondering if theres any differences in the transmissions that would keep the 47rh from working in his 99. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

i bought a used suncoast out of a 96 for my 01 and i had to change the tranducer and the solenoid on the valvebody. and the wiring harness to get it to shift like it should. works great now
