I just pulled the bed off of my old gmc and I will be putting on a new 8' flatbed with a hoist under it. Tires are currently 235-85-16. I'm looking for some MTs a little wider than this. What's a safe spacer width and tire combo for a stock truck? More importantly I'd like to see some pictures. I'm thinking 285s would be way more than enough, so I would like to know the minimum spacer width for those. This is the car. Keep in mind it will have a dump bed that gets way overloaded a few times a year.

You'd need around a 2" spacer for a 265/75/16 tire if the wheel is 6" wide. Have you considered a 255 tire?

I used a 1 1/2" spacer. The new tires are courser mxt 265/75r16

I guess I was late to the party. I hadn't noticed the date of the initial post and that you had updated.
