Ok, so... here it goes..

My cousin just bought a 99 24valve, truck looks exactly like mine, but his is a stock 24valve and mine has a 12valve swapped in it...

so, what we're looking at is.... trans slippage after installing a Superchips Cortex on it...

How much will adjusting the bands do :?:

there is absolutely no residue in the oil, and oil is pink and beautiful...

will adjusting just the front band (the one on the outside of the trans) do anything by itself ? or will both bands have to be adjusted ??

It depends!!! What gear is slipping? The front band only is used in 2hd gear.
The rear band is only used in reverse and manual low.
The quick answer is heck no it won't.
Most likely you are slipping the front clutch or converter lock up or the OD section.

Ok, we tightened up the front band...

1gear is fine, 2nd will slip... 3rd will slip slightly aswell...

If we stomp it... it will spin the tires from stop... then it grabs 2nd gear and slips until he let's off...

will drive fine if he doesn't push it past 30% pedal... or if he detunes it to stock...

Damn it.... i have an extra trans i might just loan to him, but shouldn't the stock converter hold up to just a single chip... stock intake, stock exhaust....
