Just installed a warranty claimed motor tower on my 01. Before the last pump went dumb, it constantly hovered in the 18-22psi range WOT-idle. Replaced motor and gerator assembly, now it sets at 29-32 at idle and 27-28 wot. How can I lower the pressure to avoid vp damage? Thanks.

The only way the pressure would increase from a motor/tower change would be if the viton coated ball in your return line got stuck. Pull the fitting out and make sure the ball is not stuck in the port.
 
The fuel return fitting? It came woa new check ball under the motor tower.
