all gauges cutting out

My dads 04 ford f350 will intermittently kill all the guages on the dash the radio and the power windows however all the backlighting is still on the dash, it happens only while driving and the truck runs fine during all this and the dash comes back too life after a few minutes, has anybody had this problem? Also theres no tuner on it just too rule that out

How old are the batteries in the truck, I had something similar happen right after I bought my F350 4 years ago and it turned out to be the batteries were on their way out. Replaced the batteries and everything was good to go.

There are relays under the dash that operate all that stuff, one if them us worn out, my wifes suburban does it
