Well, time to start a thread for the old girl. She has kind of been on the back burner since I got my 4th Gen Mega and getting it to where I feel is comfortable enough to last a good while.
Currently the truck is down, I had the head off last summer to get port and polished. While disassembling I broke two exhaust bolts off, had the machine shop "drill and tap" them, well they forgot the tap part so long story short two ears ended up blowing out when new bolts were put in. Hasn't ran since because I've waited to get a Steed Speed which requires studs to be welded in for my case. However, since I haven't done this yet. I've contemplated rebuilding the engine completely however I am not sure of the true value of this just yet due to my desired goals for this build.
Being a 2500, it has a D70 rear with 3.55 LS. My concept is to use this in conjunction with the factory front D60 to drag race and have a separate set of axles for sled pulling. I realize this is probably a lot of work the average person would not care to do, they'd rather swap R&P but I do not care to do this every time so I will swap axles.
Currently my biggest questions are what configuration Steed I need, will an angled one leave my S464 hitting the shock tower? I do not want to hack my shock tower up. Also, is a 13mm pump cost beneficial to the 2.5 truck? I currently am running stock internals which leads back to my question if I should rebuild. I know the rpm warranted to turn that much fuel and air requires a cam and thus fly cuts. However, due to lack of charger, again, is cost benefit there?
