Anyone see these springs break inside a VE?

Helping a buddy reseal his Ve pump and one of the springs is broken in half. Somehow the pump still ran perfect. We are Having trouble sourcing one or two to replace it. Wondering if it’s a common problem. If anyone has some laying around we would be interested in purchasing them. Any help is appreciated
