I think you have to save each one of them....as you send them....it's a PITA..I'd like to know if there is a setting that automatically saves all of them

Yes, you have to save each one as you send it, we do this to decrease server load. Decreasing the load on the server helps to keep the site fast. It's a tradeoff.
