Best CAD program

There is not a best. There may be a best for your application, as they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Solidworks was were I started but I have used Pro-E, Catia, and Inventor. They are all good and serve different purposes but Pro-E and Catia are on a whole different level from Inventor and Solidworks.
 
We use Solidworks here, its easy to use and quite powerful. We are a cnc machine shop and use it to design all our parts, fixtures etc, couldn't live without it!
