Awesome!. love it .. I liked his project when he p pumped it last year.. hows it run in that truck? any mpg #?.. videos freaking out on me... any with the jake kicking?
Thanks,
Deo

ya watch the last two are vids.. the last one is the one with jakes. Yes this is the isl we p pumped last year and finally got it in to replace the 5.9.. makes great power now but is a little egt hot with the 71/83/1.10 so im looking for a .90 to see if that is enough..

So you are telling me that a 71/83/1.10 is too hot on 8.9l? Is this just because of the powerband he wants? and how hot is hot? What is the stock turbo?

yes Jason is right it had a hx40, hard to believe it was stock 400hp and 1250ft/lbs with an hx 40.. and yes its to hot for running in the lower rpm, hits 1200 at around 25psi and less than half throttle.. its also smokey under power, not laggy just needs a tighter housing.. he will see..
i still need to find and isc or 8.3 center section that is t4. Im sure the t3 isnt helping anything.
anyone have a .90 housing part number?

any updates?.. seems like th eisl are not as easy to fine around here.. not many trucks with them..only seem to heard about buses or rvs.. and we don't get them around here much...still thinking of doing this with a f550 chassis and a willys pickup cab and 13sp.. would be sick

ya he's been driving it daily for work.. still looking to find a t4 center dump center section for it to let it breath better. As soon as he gets that i have a billet 82mm he's going to put on as twins with the 471 thats on it now.. LOL
I saw a isl in a roadrunner hay sqeeze the other day.. other than that cement truck and rvs are all ive see.. the other thing is the jakes only come on the 400hp version.. all others get exhaust brakes.
the isc(8.3) is the same motor other than having a big longer crank in the isl(8.9). the coolest part is the P pump fits right in.. all you have to get is the lines that schied already has made..

I hadn't thought of the mixer trucks, we have alot of those around here..Gonna check those out. You two are pretty awesome, always inspiring !, definately keeps the fire lit under me lol. Keep posting and updating !
Thanks,
Deo

hmm steed speed.. maybe.. that wouldnt be cheap for a one off..
looks like Buck is going to bring it up to the Jefferson state event in redding tomorrow so maybe Jason can get some good pictures of it lol..
thanks for watching this.. I am seriously thinking about putting an isc in my truck now.. maybe some day.

well the only real update would be that he put a spool valve on it so it works really good now, we prolly should have gone with a smaller turbo but it works fine now..
he is putting twins on the diamond t now so ill have to put some pictures of that up sometime when he gets it running..

Compounds on the Diamond t?.. Very interested in see how that works.. My Detriot guru Doug Douring always said more then 60 psi boost was too much for a detroit,, oil usage would go up etc...other problems.. that was the reason they mainly used parallel turbos.

a couple of pictures of bucks diamond t with twins now

Big thanks to Adam and tucker for all the late night help! Truck runs great (the work truck) It's got an unreal amount of power and can't imagine what it would be like if you put more fuel and air. Mileage not sure it's better yet I've been chasing the spool valve every time I drive it lol. Just scaled it again and it's just at 18k. Shifting is half as much and the jake sounds like an N14! So now I'm waiting for a tree to fall on it or a fire it's to much to be real! The amount of work is crazy! Probably stupid or tweaker or both.

So Impressed with this truck!, Is the MPG same / similar as the 5.9 you had before?...keeping my eyes open for a ISL. I want to stuff one in my '50 Willys cab F550 project. Maybe with my tax return. Seems like the RV engine source is best bet for the High HP Jake versions. Keep posting, and updating. How are the detroit twins running?
Thanks,
Deo
